Advocacy

Advocacy is the pursuit of influencing outcomes — including public-policy and resource allocation decisions within political, economic, and social systems and institutions — that directly affect people’s lives. Therefore, advocacy can be seen as a deliberate process of speaking out on issues of concern in order to exert some influence on behalf of ideas or persons.

Bushwalking Queensland sends delegates and representatives to many organisations and meetings where it sees a need to represent the interests of bushwalkers.

Information on the procedings of some of these organisations and meetings are given on the following pages.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Volunteers

Bushwalking Australia (BAI)

Collaborative Management Group (CMG)

Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation (QORF)

Forest Recreation Reference Group (FRRG)
